I am Eveline Vandeputte and art, in all its forms, runs like a thread throughout my life. As a child I loved to work with my hands. Hobbies such as drawing, painting, making cards, sewing, henna drawings took up my time.

This eventually led to becoming a visual arts and project cultural education teacher. After a short career in all possible levels of education (primary, secondary and special education, university of applied sciences… you name it!) I decided to change careers. After all, an acquaintance sparked a light in mewhen she said that 'restoration' would be something to pursue.

As a shy West Flemish person, I ended up in bustling Antwerp. I am currently completing my last bachelor year in the conservation and restoration of paintings. What attracts me so much about the profession is the variety: there is hands-on work to be done, but theoretical knowledge is also required. I see every object as a new challenge to experiment and learn.

When I'm not doing conservation restoration (and that's not often ;)), you can find me attempting ballet, immersed in a good non-fiction book or behind the laptop for a Netflix and coffee moment.

Oh yes, my motto is Don't stop believin ', beautifully inspired by Journey!

Sometimes you have those dreams that keep you awake ...

... until you carry them out
